ABOUT BEANS+

BEANS+ is the brainchild of Mat Kent, an avid coffee lover and mycology enthusiast deeply committed to wellness.

Raised in Margaret River, Western Australia, a region renowned for its forests and natural beauty, Mat spent many winters’ days in the bushland surrounding the town, foraging for fungi.

With a passion for mycology spanning 10+ years, Mat has spent endless hours foraging and conducting extensive research into fungi species and their associated health benefits.

Embracing a philosophy centred on natural wellness, Mat has incorporated fresh and dried fungi powders into his diet for years, experiencing firsthand the transformative impact on his well-being.

Mat regularly contributes to iNaturalist and remains active with local mycological communities in sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for fungi.

Inspired by a life dedicated to health and wellness, fueled by the remarkable benefits of fungi, BEANS+ was born—

a manifestation of Mat's vision to blend the goodness of coffee with the power of nature.
